Description:
The Toronto Suburban Electric Railway Station, 29 Main St., Georgetown. The bell tower of the Town Hall can be seen in the background, immediately right of the tree.
Notes:
The location of the Railway Station at 29 Main St. is currently Goodfellows Pizza.

The building directly behind the station is a substation which took high voltage Alternating Current and converted it to 1500 Volt Direct Current which was used to power the radial cars. The conversion of power was done through large Motor Generator sets or Rotary Converters typically having an output of 500 Kilowatts. Most radial and streetcar lines in Canada used 600 Volt Direct Current particularly if part of their route ran in city streets. Other notable Ontario 1500 Volt lines were the Lake Erie and Northern/ Grand River Railway which operated between Kitchener Waterloo and Port Dover and the London and Port Stanley Railway.-Posted by Gord McOuat July 2019
