Notes:
Munn's School takes its name from Daniel Munn, the original settler of a 200-acre land grant at the southeast corner of Dundas Street and Sixth Line. He received his land grant in 1808 and built a log structure to serve as both church and school the following year. Adults attended school in the winter when they had extra time. He deeded the land behind the structure for a cemetery in 1820. Two years later, he was buried there. His widow, Millicent Post Munn, lived for another 42 years, and a son, King Henry Munn, inherited his homestead in 1841. Land for a new church and school on the north side of Dundas Street was deeded by Jordan Munn, another son, in 1842. A frame church was built in 1844 and a school at the present-day Munn's Church site in 1852. A new location for a school was found on Daniel Munn's original land grant and a new one-room school was built in 1900. The present day Munn's at 1511 Sixth Line replaced that one-room school. As per Wilma Blokhuis, Flamborough Review, October 12, 2005.
