Portrait of Major John Kaitting (1836-1928) who was a widely esteemed member of early Oakville society. He was a veteran of the Fenian Raids on Canada and was an Adjutant Captain of the Halton Battalion Rifles of Volunteer Militia. He died on Oct 12, 1928 of pneumonia in Brampton, Ont.
